Why Amsterdam Schipol is my favorite airport

Amsterdam Schipol is one of my favorite and essential parts of Amsterdam. It is the contributing factor of why I’ve been to Amsterdam 10+ times.

Typically in America, were used to long transit getting to an airport, and losing a lot of time within the airport due to security.

However at Schipol, I’ve always found it efficient exiting the plane. But the most convenient factor is the train station within the airport. So upon getting off my flight, I could be on a train within 10-15 minutes and be in downtown Amsterdam within a half hour.

Due to the efficiency of the airport, security taking less than 15 minutes every single time I’ve flown, the train getting you to the center, Amsterdam makes a great pit stop on any European itinerary.

However I need to point out the negative part about this airport which would be simply how big it is. One time after getting through security I had a 28 minute walk to my gate. Don’t overestimate the time you need for security but don’t underestimate the potential 30 minute walk you’ll have to your gate.
